I'm not a big fan of discussing periods. I was embarrassed to buy pads, and hid used pads in the trash. In all honesty, even though I've just started using cups and reusable pads keep it even more discreet. I buy them online instead of in the store, and all of cups' washing can be done in the bathroom and leaves no evidence. It might not be the healthiest attitude, but it may be successful in converting some people.

Taking the step to green our moon cycles is liberating! No longer will we be reliant on synthetics to absorbe the flow. I tried a moon cup (same as diva cup) and once it was in it was fine but the process of inserting and extracting it takes time to master! There is a back to it which I am yet to master but I am determind to master this for the planet and for myself.

Tampons always required pads too, making them almost not even worth the money. These divacups sound like a great product. I will have to try them.

Beyond the eco friendly reasons for making the switch to menstrual cups and washable pads, here are a few more personal and practical reasons ... and hopefully nobody considers this vulgar *smile*

1. the fibre from tampons would break off inside me. I know this because on the next period I would pass bits of cotton. Okay, that in itself should be enough to convince anyone!!

2. I always leaked with tampons. Always! Very rare with the DivaCup.

3. The Lunapads are incredibly soft. Disposable pads, not at all!

4. I am never caught short. The DivaCup and Lunapads are always in the house, and I carry a couple of Lunapads discretely in my purse for surprises.
