Size 1 is recommended for those under 30 years old who have never delivered vaginally or by caesarean section. Size 2 is recommended if you are older than 30 OR have delivered vaginally or by c-section.
DivaCup Construction: The DivaCup is made of a high quality, soft healthcare grade silicone that starts as a liquid. The molecules are then bound together (or vulcanized) with very high heat to form a solid stable piece of silicone (similar to the feel of soft rubber). The DivaCup is cured after production in an oven at a very high temperature to make sure all the molecules are bound and “chain linked” together. Since the end product is a solid material yet flexible and durable, there is no possibility for anything to leak into the body (no leaching). This form of silicone is odorless, is latex-free, plastic-free and BPA-free. It has been used safely in healthcare applications for over 50 years.
The FDA has cleared The DivaCup for use by the FDA for use as feminine hygiene protection. It also holds a current Health Canada medical device license.
Pantyliner Construction: 2 Layer, 100% cotton flannel base topped with gusset panel made with 2 layers of soft and absorbent 100% cotton fleece. Nickel-free, Silver-plated brass single snap fastening.
DivaCup:The DivaCup should be thoroughly cleaned at least twice a day (do not wear continuously for longer than 12 hours at a time.) Washing the cup in mild soap and warm water provides sufficient cleansing. The best cleaning agent to use is The DivaWash. We have formulated it as a pH balanced wash that is best for the cup and you, because it does not leave residue. Remember to wash your hands before inserting and removing your DivaCup.
At the end of each cycle The DivaCup should be washed and rinsed as specified and then submerged in an open pan of boiling water (continuous rolling boil) for twenty (20) minutes. Do not leave the boiling pot unattended and use enough water so that the pan does not boil dry.
For detailed wash and care instructions click here.
Pantyliners:Lunapads can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended (but not always necessary) particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Please note that if Lunapads are being soaked, soaking water must be changed daily.
We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained Lunapads. Heavily stained Pads, Liners or Pantyliners may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.
Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapads, as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.
The DivaCup:On your first trial with The DivaCup, make sure you are relaxed and have time to read the User Guide thoroughly. Insertion and removal will only take a few seconds once you master the technique.
Read our detailed insertion & removal instructions here: http://www.lunapads.com/tips-and-advice/how-to-use-the-divacup Pantyliners: Wrap the Pantyliner around the gusset of your underwear and close the snap to secure in place. The fleece panel should be facing up (towards your body on the inside of the panty), as this is the most absorbent part of the pantyliner. Note that incorrect placement of the Pantyliner may result in result reduced comfort or performance.

This is the first cycle trying the Diva Cup, and I love it! The first time was a bit painful (it is unreal how much this 31 year old doesn't know about her own body!) getting it in, but after that, it has been fine. I have had no leaks at all. I also love the pads. They are so much thinner than any pad I've ever worn. I generally don't wear pads, but I did the first few days of my cycle with my DivaCup because I didn't know if I'd leak while I was at work. Now, I cant stop telling people about it. OK, and lets be honest here: the blood is kind of gross at first, but really, so were bloody tampons. This is such a great product, and I love that there is no more plastic tampon applicators going into the landfill. (Posted on 4/14/12)

I got my Diva cup before I went on a month-long hiking trip. It was great! The other women had to carry out their used pads or tampons in a plastic bag, which is not only disgusting but also adds to the weight-- a big deal on a backpacking trip where you're already carrying forty pounds. Me, I just poured out the blood, rinsed my Diva cup, and put it back in. After the first few times I found the cup comfortable and easy to insert. There are some Youtube videos showing how to fold it, or you can just fiddle with it. Be careful not to inadvertently insert air, which can be uncomfortable. I would recommend wearing a pantyliner just like you would with a tampon. One thing: if you use it in a public restroom, you might want to bring some bottled water so you don't have to walk with it to the sinks covered in blood. (If you're in a pinch and not too prissy, urine is sterile, meaning it is actually cleaner than tap water in terms of bacteria and infection.) (Posted on 1/10/12)
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ! It took me 2 cycles be a DivaCup pro, but I've got it and love it. I tell EVERYONE about it. The Pantyliner that came with it are super soft - love them. The only thing I would change, is a prefer longer ones, but they still work :) Really good for my last days were I don't have much fluid going on and a little dry. :) Great Combo! Well I wanted to say that it was easy to get in, but getting it out was totally frustrating! I have difficulty grabbing stuff, so the little stem was pretty hard to reach. It actually made me nervous and I tried everything. Bearing down brought it down, but not far enough. I got freaked and actually just reached in and grabbed the side and got it out. I wish the stem was actually longer. It isn't a solid stem, so it smooshes and gets kinda moist so it's hard to grab. Since I just pulled it out that way, my opening hurt and was super sore for a few hours, (sorry for the graphics), but I must say that I didn't realize how heavy my flow was the first day. I will use it now always the first day! I could probably use it more often but for just the first 12 hours it's super heavy flow and I think it's the best time for a tampon type thing. I'm also glad to have an option for swimming days! Anyway, my advice, get one of these, BUT don't freak out! I think that's a bit scary to using the cup, but it works great! (Posted on 9/20/11)
I have been wearing lunapads for about 3 months and really wanted to make that leap to the DivaCup however I saw it and was like What the HECK! THAT can go INSIDE ME!??!??!?! I got it and played with it for 2 days just folding into a dozen shapes and seeing what wouldn't be so scary. I think I actually appreciated the time I got to play with it before I used it. It made me less scared and able to relax. Well, many times people have said it takes a learning curve. It didn't for me. I folded it once into the triangle shape, that didn't work because it was actually too small (I was thinking the smaller the better. It got part-way in and opened and it was too early, so I took it out, washed it in warm water (which helped relax my muscles) and folded it the c shape. It went right in.. I will admit that when it opens it feels kinda funny because you can feel it pop a little. Nothing startling but just a weird feeling (and sound!) It's been years since I wore tampons because they pinched and felt gross and hurt when I pulled them out and they weren't "filled." I was thinking I'd never try anything "up there" again. But after talking to the Lunagals and reading all the other stuff, I was like I really can't go wrong here! Thanks lunagals! (Posted on 9/17/11)
This is the first purchase I made at Lunapads.com - it is also the best! I can't imagine my life without a DivaCup now. It has completely changed how I feel about my periods! Now I don't mind having my period at all! This kit is a great start, after I'd tried the pantyliners I HAD to buy some more, they are amazingly soft and pretty! I feel absolutely secure wearing them.
