Construction and Performance

Pad Base: 2 Layer, 100% cotton flannel base topped with an absorbent panel made of 2 layers of cotton fleece, and 1 layer of PUL to prevent soaking through. Nickel-free, Silver-plated brass single snap fastening.
Insert: 2 layers of 100% cotton fleece.

A single Pad will get you through an entire day of your cycle; just change your Insert as needed. Inserts will last approximately as long (per use) as a comparably-sized disposable pad or tampon. Unlike most disposable pads, Lunapads do not contain any added chemicals, gels, or super absorbent polymers. Given this, Lunapads users need to be mindful of changing the Insert as frequently as their flow dictates in order to prevent soaking through the Pad. Frequent changing of the Inserts significantly enhances the comfort and performance of the Pad.

Lunapads will last upwards of 5 years with recommended usage and care. Many of our customers report they still own some Lunapads from 10 years ago!

Wash and Care

Lunapads can be washed by hand or machine in any temperature with your regular detergent. Pre-soaking or rinsing in cold water prior to washing is recommended (but not always necessary) particularly if the pads are heavily saturated. Do not soak for longer than 24 hours.

We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained pads. Heavily stained pads may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.

Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners to clean Lunapads, as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.

How to Use

Wrap the Pad around the gusset of your underwear and close the snap to secure. The absorbent fleece panel in the center of the pad should be facing up towards your body. Incorrect placement may result in reduced comfort and performance of the Pad.

Inserts can be added as desired by sliding under the ric-rac bands on the Pad. Multiple Inserts may be used for increased absorbency. Pads can be refreshed as desired by removing and replacing the Insert(s). Please note that Inserts are not intended to be worn without a Pad.

Better Than I Could've Imagined!! <3Review by Elizabeth
I just switched from disposable pads to Lunapads and I wish I would've used Lunapads right from the start. For starters, they're so comfortable! Disposable pads used to bunch up and were uncomfortable and felt dirty after wearing them for a few hours even though they weren't ready to be changed. Lunapads are incredibly soft, do not bunch up at all, don't feel wet, don't leak or rub off on your undies, and feel dry all day long. I completely forget I'm wearing it.

As someone who has used disposable pads all her life I will admit the idea of having to wash my pads grossed me out before I actually did it. Having a trashcan full of soiled disposable pads had such an awful smell but washing disposable pads is less smelly, less dirty, and less noticeable. I purchased a medium size wet bag with a strap and just hung it on a hook in my closet and when I am putting on a new pad, I just fold up and toss the old one in the bag and then when my cycle is over (or I run out of pads) I just unfold and dump all the pads in the washing machine, add a scoop of OxyClean, and hardly even have to look at them.

I know, the prospect of washing pads sounds disgusting and you might be thinking you could never do it but trust me, as someone who has thought the exact same thing, you won't mind it any more than you mind washing your underwear or regular clothes. I personally prefer to let my pads airdry because I think that makes them last longer but I'm sure sticking them in the drier would be easier and would work fine.

The mini pad and insert is what I substituted for a traditional, daytime, disposable pad as far as length and absorbency. Lunapads do not smell at all and are much more discreet to change in public (no more plastic pad wrapper sounds). Even if you're unsure about whether switching to reusable pads is for you, I really encourage you to order just one and try it out. You'll fall in love. On top of the personal benefits of reusable pads, they are also exponentially better for the environment and your wallet. Without all the waste from disposables there is much less garbage that you are contributing to a landfill.

Although Lunapads are expensive when you first purchase them, it is well worth it! The price of disposable pads is rising and buying reusables WILL save you money in the long run. I also recommend checking out some videos about disposable pads on YouTube is you need more info. But really, Lunapads are the best! Now I almost look forward to getting my period because these pads are so great! (Posted on 7/30/2015)
Sheet-saver!!Review by Bevey
So my biggest period problem, since I was thirteen, was it leaking onto my sheets. I used to try Always Infinity overnight pads, but they didn't help. I got this on a whim and I wear it the first 2 nights of my period and absolutely no leaks!! 100% would recommend to anyone. (Posted on 2/19/2015)
Radical!Review by Robyn
These are my go to as soon as I start my period. They are comfy and absorbent and easy to use. I used to get boils on the insides of my groin and I can now attribute that to disposable pads because since I started only using Lunapads they have stopped completely! Thank you thank you thank you!! (Posted on 1/15/2015)
I'm Addicted! Review by Danielle
I have a moderate flow and use maxi pads for day time. Although I have a smaller build, this size is perfect because it offers reliable coverage and comfort each day of my period - light, moderate or otherwise. A single insert is more than adequate for any stage of my flow (changing once every 5 hours on average), because I rarely saturate through to the base pad ... and have never experienced a leak. However, I do enjoy having the option to customize the absorbancy. I own 10 maxi pads with 22 matching inserts - Apple Blossom, Strawberry Jammin' and Red Rockets. The oldest ones in my collection are 3 1/2 years old and still in great condition. (Posted on 1/13/2015)
love themReview by GreenBean
I am so happy I found lunapads! Thank you so much for your good services and your awesome product! I even initiated my sister and my niece. My niece is about to be menstruating and for now she uses the mini liner for leaks. + the softness and designs make periods more joyful! (Posted on 6/18/2014)
Would be great if they didn't slide so muchReview by May
I've been using cloth pads for several years now, and strongly prefer them over disposable pads. They're much softer against my skin, don't smell, and don't make that plastic crumple noise when I move. They do show a little wear after a while, though, and stains don't always come completely out of the brighter colored bands.
The major downside, unfortunately, is that sliding is a huge problem with my Lunapads. Wearing tighter-fitting underwear doesn't always solve the problem (not to mention being uncomfortable when I'm bloated or having cramps), and I'm not always in a situation where I can duck somewhere to readjust as this site suggests. So, if I'm going to be doing any sort of activity (tennis, hiking, jogging) or know I'll be outside for extended periods (i.e. away from the privacy of a bathroom), I still have to rely on disposable pads or tampons.
I continue to use them because they're too expensive to just throw by the wayside, and they do work well enough when I'm at home or work and can more easily readjust them. It's a pain to have to do that at all, though (one more thing to worry about!) so I'm unlikely to replace them with more Lunapads when they're worn out. (Posted on 6/9/2014)
Wow!Review by Katieb
I have been using Lunapads since I think about 2004---back when they had the thick rolled edges and the wings attached to the maxis! My daughter's first set of beautiful pads were Lunapads and I have a ton of Lunapads, but they have not been my first choice over the years because of the problem of leak through. Until now---Lunapads---you've done gone and made them 100% perfect by using PUL in the pads!!!! The 2 new ones I have are SO soft, SO beautiful...I simply can't wait to use them ;) LeakPROOF Lunapads have been a long time coming....but thank you SO much for this! (Posted on 2/12/2014)
love lunapads!Review by ay
I looooooooooooooove Lunapads. I'm so happy I made the switch to cloth pads. I love that I'm exposing my body to less chemicals now and producing less waste. My period used to be really heavy, but after using Lunapads it actually became a bit lighter - maybe because of no chemicals? I've been using them for at least 8 years, maybe more. They're so nice, soft and comfortable and I feel really good using them. (Posted on 3/6/2013)
Love it!Review by pomegranatetears
Many years ago (around 6), I purchased a Lunapad kit that came with everything I would need from small to large flow. I don't really have heavy periods, so I haven't had to replace the cotton pads in all those years. I can't believe how long they've lasted! They are also very comfy - much better than disposable pads. When I have to use a disposable pad, it feels really uncomfortable. I hate it!

I would definitely recommend buying Lunapads and am going to buy some for my daughters when they become of age. (Posted on 2/16/2013)
cloth for backupReview by Olga
I use the cup and love it but it does leak sometimes even if inseetrd properly, if I leave it in too long. There IS a threshold like one would expect with any product. That's why I use cloth pads as backup. Ladies cloth pads are AWESOME. Cost efficient just like the cup, and super comfortable. And generally more absorbent. Also, I don't mean to be gross, but when I use plasticy pads it leaves this odor I'm self-conscious about and actually you get none of that with cloth pads. (Posted on 1/4/2013)
Great for overnightReview by rlh
I've been using this for a few months now and find this to be great for overnight coverage. I've had the odd issue with leaking but usually because I didn't have a snug enough fit. As another reviewer said, boy shorts work well or else I will wear a boy short style, body shaping underwear over top of mine at night to just hold it all snugly in place.

I've been really glad to have purchased Luna Pads and find I don't have the rashes I had started to develop with disposables and they are super comfortable. I do find on my heavy days that I have to change the liners every couple of hours (I use 2 inserts each time with my liners on these days) but not a bit problem.

When out and about the Planet Wise stash bag is handy to have. (Posted on 12/12/2012)
They're good.Review by Nicole
This is a much better size and more comfortable than the long pads. Good for at home use. Product has washed well so far. (I removed the label on the pad). I still prefer the disposables for days when I'm not at home. I recently bought more Femme rock detergent. It's a good idea to buy a couple of detergents with your order to save on post. I've had mine for 5+ years...Review by Lily
and I'm sure they will last another 5. They are comfy and the patterns make me smile. Shall it be poodles (old fabric) or flowers today? :) I do buy new pads now and then, more so because Lunapads keeps coming out with cute new patterns!

My period is heavy for the first few days which can be uncomfortable if I'm at work. I usually bring 2-3 extra liners with me and on rare occasions, I've had leaks through the pad but this is because I've waited too long to change. I find that the pad, being fabric, still provides a lot of leak protection and it takes an extremely heavy flow over several hours to really soak through. I have a small pouch that I transport the used liners in. Wearing the right kind of underwear is important for a good fit. I find snug cotton boyshorts work the best.

I find that for me, washing by hand works better. Soaking/rinsing the pads right away when you get home is key. I usually soak pads and liners overnight in biodegradable dish soap. I have a large supply of empty yogurt containers for this. I then rub out the rest of the stains with a mild soap bar and let that soak in for several hours or when I'm able to get around to washing out the soap. I always hang to dry. This may sound like a lot of work but it really isn't and has become habitual for me.

For travelling, I admit that I have used disposable pads for a couple of overseas trips. If I'm staying at a hotel for more than 2 consecutive nights, then I'm able to hang them to dry but if backpacking, it can be a bit of a challenge. I would recommend the diva cup for travellers who may have to share bathrooms with strangers. (Posted on 11/23/2012)
My Favourite LunaPad Size! Review by Danika
When I first ordered from Lunapads, I chose Mini-pads and found that they were way too short for me. I exchanged for Maxi-pads and they were the perfect length for me to feel that they were reliably "there" and doing their job well.

As it turned out, washing/pre-soaking was a bit more than I bargained for, but the Lunapads customer service team was fantastic and helped me get switched over to a Diva Cup (this company is really committed to helping you find the right product for you!). But, if you are definitely a "pads" girl, I would 100% recommend this length! I'm 5'4 and 110 lbs (size 2, XS), and I really liked these for both daytime and overnight wear.

Hope that helps! (Posted on 9/6/2012)
maybe one day I will buy more.Review by Irina
About me: I eat organic, I buy local, my son was in cloth diapers, I walk and bike, I buy used clothes when I can, BUT, alas, I'm still on a search of a perfect cloth pad....

- material is soft
- the insert does stay in place
- the pad tends to stay in place (unlike Lunapad pantiliners which are up my butt after 5 minutes of walking)

- wings/flaps are NOT WATERPROOF (like the main part). Seriously! How hard is it to make them waterproof?! Sure enough, on the first ware my pad moved just a bit and the blood leaked THROUGH the wing and onto the underware. And no, the insert was not saturated at that point.
- if conventional pads tend to keep all the moisture and feel wet and slipper, well, the cloth dries fast, along with the blood and pubic hair stuck to it. Since I am not the type to subject myself to waxing, ever, I sure didn't enjoy pulling on my pubic hair :-) No, of course the bond wasn't as strong as wax' and I did in the end keep my hair, but it was rather painful.
- inserts get saturated pretty quickly
- you cannot toss it with your laundry as is (unlike the pee diapers which I sometimes washed with my own shirts), the blood might stain lighter items.
- also, I don't know where the rest of the ladies buy their disposables and how much they pay for them, but I usually stock up in Costco, so it's like 20c a pad or even less if you catch a sale (smtg like $14 for 96 pads). (Don't make assumptions, I shop in costco about twice a year with a friend for pads, Nellies detergent (100kg), nuts and stain remover)
So, suppose I manage to go through period with 7 pads and 2 additional inserts for each (that' in total $161, lets forget the taxes, since they have nothing to do with actual products, it's a government thing). Let's assume I use up 14 pads per period, that's 14*20c ~ $3. It will take you 53 periods to BREAK EVEN. That's roughly 4.5 years. And I'm not counting price of detergent, water, electricity and just the time and inconvenience for soaking, washing etc. And mind you, pads will probably last no longer than 5 years anyway. So, if you know where to shop for disposables and can stock up on sales you are not saving any money with cloth (you might even pay more, depending on aggressiveness of your washing machine). I agree that it is better for environment and perhaps for your skin and health, just don't talk money here. :-)))

Bottom line: with all the above, I can wear this pad at home, where I can afford a leak and where I can change the inserts every hour, but I cannot wear it to work, because I very often cannot go to the bathroom every hour. I think once the wings will become waterproof I'll give it another try. (Posted on 8/27/2012)
Made my life so much easier. Review by Bunnylady
I have been a user of Lunapads for five years or so now, but I must say that they've made my life so much easier, and better. I used to get ill during my period, with issues before and after, and I would hate getting it. Since I using Lunapads I'm not getting as ill and I don't dread my periods. Lunapads are so comfortable as well, not like I'm on a plastic mat. thank you for creating a product like this! (Posted on 6/14/2012)
love luna pads, but having a hard time with this oneReview by Jessica
This pad is super-cute, but I have a few problems with it. For a smaller pad, I'd like to see it be a little more narrow b/c the lining keeps bunching in the center. I'm also very aware of where the ric-rack is and it's kind of uncomfortable (not painful, but annoying like an itchy tag or something). I don't mind the ric-rack on the longer pads b/c it hits you in different areas. I guess for a smaller pad I'd hope that it'd be more comfortable and less "bunchy", although I did not feel this was the case. (Posted on 6/6/2012)
So HappyReview by Caitlyn
I'm 17 and went vegan about a month ago and I was just going to get organic disposable pads, so happy I didn't. They are so much better than disposables. They don't crinkle, stick to your butt causing that awful rash we've all experienced before, they don't smell (which I was wary to believe from other reviews but its actually true), you don't feel wet like disposables can make you feel and they are so comfortable. The absorbancy is also really good, for me they last about the same amount of time as disposables, maybe a little longer before I have to change the insert and I have a heavy flow for the first three days of my cycle. I would recommend these to everyone, I wish I had known about these earlier. LOVE THEM! (Posted on 5/28/2012)
Heavy FlowReview by Kim
I have been contemplating purchasing Luna Pads for some time now and made the switch approximately 2-3 months ago. At that time I started wearing them in combination with the Diva Cup and I loved how comfortable they were compared to a regular pad. As I have a very heavy flow I was very reluctant to switch from a regular overnight pad to the Luna but I tried it this month and I loved it! I did have to "bulk" up a bit, using approximately 3 of the heavier flow liners, and although it was quite bulky I didn't mind too much as I was only sleeping. I was so happy when I awoke in the morning and discovered that I remained fully covered all night through and that I hadn't leaked through!! I am definitely a convert! Thank you Lunapads! (Posted on 3/8/2012)
Excellent!Review by Mary
One of my daughters is "high functioning" autistic and has fabric sensitivity issues with all types of clothing. She is now at an age where her menstrual cycle could begin any day or might hold off for another few years. The not knowing makes her nervous and is something she started to fixate on. I have been worrying about this stage in her life as I used to get horrible rashes from disposable pads and tampons were just uncomfortable to wear. I switched to the Diva Cup a few years ago and have been very happy with it, but I didn't think it would be the right solution for my daughter. I found these online and decided it would be best to get a couple she could practice wearing and get used to before she absolutely needed them.

She has worn them and says they are comfortable on her bottom and loves to wear them. It is something she can easily use herself and I don't have to fight with her to wear because, "they feel better than her underwear."

We keep a stash in the car just in case she starts when we are not home. Over the last two months I have been slowly building a stash of pads and liners for myself and both of my daughters--and it's easy to sort out who's are who's because we all have our own favorite pattern.

These pads have made what could have been a super stressful time in my daughters life considerably easier and is helping her to better prepare herself for the huge changes coming in her life.

The fact that she can practice wearing them before she needs them, be comfortable in her ability to use them properly and have them be the same thing she uses every month is a god-send for someone with autism. (Posted on 2/3/2012)
Good materials & production, not great dimensionsReview by MontrealLady
I'm sorry to say that I find these to have unfortunate dimensions - they are too wide and too short for me. The flaps that snap together hang down loose instead of fitting snugly against your underwear, which allows for quite a bit of movement.

Apart from the fit, the material is very soft and comfortable, the stitching is excellent, and I loved the packaging which included great information sheets and a coupon - very nice touch.

However, I found the shipping speed quite slow, especially when I had to pay for shipping (out of 5 companies I made purchases from around Christmas, this was the only time I had to pay shipping, and it was the slowest delivery even though it was within Canada between two major cities). Because this is a review of the product, however, I have not included this consideration in my star rating.

I will probably try the longer (and thinner, judging solely by the pictures) pad and see if that's more suitable to my body type and needs, because I love the idea of reusable menstrual products for both personal comfort & environmental consideration. (Posted on 1/18/2012)
I am a convertReview by Phobos
At first, I just bought the Teeny Pantyliners for my regular days since I had been using one to two disposable pantyliners per day and I really wanted to be more environmentally conscious in my daily life. The LunaPads' pantyliners turned out to be so comfy that I decided to give their pads a try.

I measured the disposable pads I had been using and picked the Mini Pads to start with. However, like what the previous reviewer has mentioned the Mini Pads (and all the pads actually) shrank after washing and tumble-drying. The Mini Pads turned out to be inadequate for my heavier days. So I ordered a couple of those Maxi Pads. When I first received them, they seemed huge but after washing and drying, they shrank to a much more manageable size. Now I use the Maxi Pads for the first couple of days of my period and switched to the Mini Pads afterward. I have also bought more Teeny Pantyliners for my regular days (so I don't need to do laundry so often. :) )

I love using the LunaPads. They are definitely more comfortable and breathable than the disposables. The Maxi Pads can be a bit bulky with tight jeans but since I only use them during the first two days of my period, it is not a big deal.

Washing is easy. I soak the Maxi and Mini Pads in a 4-liter ice cream bucket and change the soaking water whenever I am throwing in a used liner and not in a hurry to run out of the door. Most blood is washed off after days of soaking so by the end of my period, I just throw everything in the washer with my regular laundry. For the pantyliners, I don't even soak them and just throw them in my regular laundry.

At first I was worried about going out and carrying around the used pads. But now I got myself a Moon Bag, going out is easy and I actually don't need to put anything unsightly into my friends' (especially guy friends' ) garbage can.

The only complaint I have is sometimes during my heavier days, the wings of the pads might be stained. Since the wings are not lined with the plastic lining, my panties would be stained too.

By the way, if you don't like to see yellow stain on your pads, I would recommend to order the pads and liners in darker colours. It seems light pink and light blue pads retain stains quite easily. (Posted on 12/22/2011)
Caution, These ShrinkReview by Lois
When I got these pads, they were 10.25 in. long and 6.06 in. between the centers of the wing snaps (when pad laid out flat). Now that I've washed one, dimensions have shrunk to 9.75 in. long and 5.62 in. between centers of the wing snaps. I've just ordered some wing extenders :-) since even before the first washing, the pad, when snapped, was narrower than my panty crotch was! Also, if I were going to order again, I'd probably get a longer length in order to keep the ric-rack bands farther away from the area that gets dirty. Oh well ... On the positive side, the pad & liner look like they'll last a long time and absorb liquid (though I haven't yet put it to a really severe test). (Posted on 11/29/2011)
Light flow, really??Review by Drea
I bought these pads on sale without taking a moment to conceptualize the measurements. I have light to average flow, and own a lot of other Lunapads that I love. I just got these in the mail today and they are *HUGE*. Definitely NOT FOR LIGHT FLOW. They're bigger than my long nighttime ones that I wear at the heaviest point in my period.
I have no idea what the heck I'm going to do with them (since paying for shipping back to Canada seems silly). They might make good post-birth pads after I have babies?

Thank you for that feedback, Drea. I'm sorry to read that you were disappointed with the pad-style you received. Please note that maxi pads are 10" or 25.5 cm long. If the pad you received from us is longer than this, you may have been shipped the wrong product. If this is the case, please call or email us at so we can correct this for you.

When choosing Lunapads, it is really key to consider the length. While our maxi and long pads may feel too large for those who are petite / small, our mini pads may not provide enough coverage for those who are taller / larger, regardless of how light or heavy that person's period may be. Getting the right product is partly about flow considerations, but it's also about your body, your needs, and the amount of coverage you are looking for. Those with heavier flow typically look for more coverage, but this isn't true for everyone - just as some with light flow may require a longer pad than what you would choose for yourself. Our recommendations are provided as guidelines only, and should be considered in combination with what you know about your own unique needs and preferences. We recommend measuring the length of disposable (or reusable) pad that you like best and choosing the pad or pantyliner that is of a similar length (or longer / shorter, depending on what you think will work best for you). Again, feel free to email us at to discuss this further. Thanks again. (Posted on 10/27/2011)

MUST HAVEReview by Kris

Soft and comfy!Review by Stephanie
I have switched to Lunapads for about 4 months now and I bought maxi pad (because I was actually thinking of my Aunt Maxine who died, which I always called Maxipads) and I actually only wore maxi pads disposable pads.

At first, I actually always kept a disposable with me (for those just in case times) but those times never came! It IS truly a maxipad... it holds MORE than a disposable! It also feels more comfy than disposable. I mean really, is plastic butt a comfy butt? Let's get real here, it's not! Plastic butt is sticky, smelly, and noisy. You're more self conscious and you don't enjoy being a woman.

This month, I'm actually EXCITED about my period! I want it so that I can try my new luna-products, because I have proclaimed myself a "luna-tic." I want everything Lunapads!

Whether you do this as a green way of living or a health issue, make the plunge! Seriously, if you're afraid, then write them, they are AWESOME and answer all your questions and if you want to ask any of us who have purchased, I'm sure we're all willing, I know I am! You won't regret becoming a luna-tic like me and you'll be glad to be a woman! (Posted on 9/14/2011)
What a relief (especially for those with sensitive skin!)Review by Sally
I bought the organic cotton lunapads in the cream color, and they are everything and more I could ask for. I have really sensitive skin, and maxi pads were making me dread my period so I had been thinking about lunapads on and off for years but was always worried about the negatives. Let me just say that I will never go back to reusable pads. There is no odour and the cleaning is absolutely no problem at all. I would advise you to get the buncha farmers stain stick and the nellie's laundry wash because they completely clean my pads, I have a pretty heavy flow, and on plain cream colored cotton I was worried about staining, its been about 4 cycles since I went on lunapads and not a single stain yet!

I really can't live without my lunapads!

Also, I'm so proud of Lunapads for being part the Pads4Girls campaign! (Posted on 8/17/2011)
Made my periods so much more comfortable!!Review by Aequa
I have been using the pads and liners for 5 years and they are still in great shape despite regular trips through the washer and drier. I use the regular pad with a liner for my 10 hours shift at work and I don't even need to change them, they absorb so well and no bad smell, no sweating, you hardly remember you're wearing one. I'm never going back to disposables! (Posted on 8/10/2011)
I will never go back!Review by Kris
I have been using Luna Pads for a few years now, and I can honestly say that I will never go back to disposable products again! I love the quality of the pads, even after a few years of use they look and feel as good as new. They are breathable and comfortable to the point that I forget that I have one on. Superb!Review by lunapearl
I've used lunapads for 2 cycles now, and I am never going back to disposables! For some strange reason I had never given one thought as to why I was willing to suffer all the discomfort, rashes, sweating etc...that I had with disposables. I guess I just figured it was something women had to put up with. When I first heard about lunapads, I thought it was a crazy idea, but really what did I have to lose. After two full cycles I can say with confidence that lunapads do the job, but they do it better than disposables. I don't have discomfort, rashes, or excessive sweating with lunapads. They are soft, breathable, and comfortable. Thank you for this great, truly natural, product. (Posted on 4/29/2011)
A first purchase and not my last!Review by Lollie
I first bought these pads a couple years ago, and they are great quality, no problems with them.. super comfortable and fantastic during a medium/heavy period, or if you move around a lot when you sleep.
I tell everyone about Lunapads! Best alternative on the market to horrible bleached store bought pads!!! I even order them all the way to Australia! 5 star! (Posted on 4/27/2011)
Yet another fan! Review by Bri
I'll never go back to the world of disposables. Wearing them is comfortable, not smelly, easy, and fun! Washing them is easy (I use regular detergent, wash with a normal load, and air dry pads and liners). Word on the street is that they will last for years to come, so I don't mind having shelled out the moolah. I've worn them during weekends at others' houses, while camping, and normal day-to-day life. They stay in place without a sticky back - imagine that! They absorb and keep me dry without chemicals and plastic - imagine that! I'm a fan of how I don't get a rash on my crotch once a month anymore.

Do you really need more reasons?! (Posted on 4/6/2011)
So comfy and convenient!! Review by Danielle
These pads are so comfy and convenient!! No more late night runs to the store, and the design that you can add a liner when you choose is so nice!! Now I can use them if I have a heavy day, or a light day. Also, since using these, my period have become lighter, shorter, and less crampy. A little pricey, but with the money you save over disposables, it's well worth it!!! (Posted on 2/5/2011)
Comfy for vacationReview by Ally
I have been using lunapads along with a lunette for almost a year. The pad is very comfy and the liners are easy to change. I used the maxi pads on vacation at Disney World several months ago and they worked out great. They are very easy to wash, I just put them in their own little laundry bag and put them in the wash and dryer. So far there is just a little staining on the liners but they have held up very well. Lovin the softnessReview by Dawn
SO easy to wear and wash. I love all the colours! It really makes my day to pick out what pad I'm going to wear. I never thought having my period could be so much fun! (Posted on 2/4/2011)
So comfortable and durable!Review by Rachel
I have been using lunapads for two years now. They are so comfortable and breathable, even in hot weather. They have remained super-soft through countless washes. No stains either! I have convinced both my sister and my cousin to switch, and I feel great knowing my daughter will be able to use these from her very first period. Love love love them! (Posted on 2/4/2011)
Great long lasting product that does what it saysReview by Kim
I have been using Lunapads for a year and a half and I look forward to using them every month. I love the feel of a cloth pad. No longer have the problem with heat rash that disposables would cause. Love the cute designs and they clean easily with a one day soak and throw in the wash with towels. I love the black liners they don't show stains. Allows you to layer on heavier flowing days. Wonderful product don't think twice buy NOW!!! (Posted on 2/4/2011)
Endurance ComfortReview by Lacifur
My Maxi Pad & Liners celebrate their 6th year of remaining both clean and soft. One might think the last feeling associate with a feminine product is the comfort a child feels close to a favorite blanket, but I still cannot help but enjoy the gentle soothing these provide.

And the patterns just keep getting better! The only downfall to my pads remaining useful for all these years is that I cannot justify getting the fantastic new patterns. Perhaps, I may splurge someday soon. (Posted on 2/4/2011)
Well Made With a Long Life!Review by Sanssouci
I bought one of these pads in Cocoa Kaleidoscope probably about three and a half years ago, and I am still using it today. I think the fabric is adorable, and the pad is still holding up just fine after all this time. The pad does fine in the washing machine, in the dryer, or hanging on a line. The seams are not even starting to come apart anywhere. The snap is still on securely and stays together even when I roll around during the night. The pad can handle my light and medium days on its own. With a liner it can handle my heavier days without a problem too. (Posted on 2/4/2011)
Love them!Review by Cris
I used this pad for the first time while on vacation overseas. Having your period on vacation stinks, but with this pad I was comfortable all day! So much better than disposables!! (Posted on 2/4/2011)
Love these pads!Review by Cris
I ordered one of these pads prior to going overseas on vacation. This was my first glimpse into life without disposables and I was so impressed. Walking around all day with just one comfy pad and I only changed the liner once! Having your period on vacation stinks, but I was super comfortable all day! (Posted on 2/4/2011)

Lunapads How-to Guide

Reusable menstrual products are eco-friendly, money-saving, healthy alternatives to disposable pads and tampons. Lunapads will last well over 5 years with recommended use and care! While individual use may vary, we estimate that a single Lunapad replaces 120 disposable pads or tampons.

A Conversation about The DivaCup

There are lots of reasons to switch from tampons to The DivaCup; convenience, comfort, your health, the environment, financial savings & more. This first episode in our new video series shares the personal accounts of a group of DivaCup users, and explores what motivated each woman to try this innovative menstrual solution.

Why Switch to Lunapads?

Roughly 20 billion pads, tampons and applicators are sent to North American landfills annually. Each menstruating person in North America will throw away an estimated 16,800 disposable pads or tampons in their lifetime; products that require hundreds of years to biodegrade. Imagine the difference we could make if we chose to ditch the disposables.
