Heavy Flow Review by Kim
Quality I have been contemplating purchasing Luna Pads for some time now and made the switch approximately 2-3 months ago. At that time I started wearing them in combination with the Diva Cup and I loved how comfortable they were compared to a regular pad. As I have a very heavy flow I was very reluctant to switch from a regular overnight pad to the Luna but I tried it this month and I loved it! I did have to "bulk" up a bit, using approximately 3 of the heavier flow liners, and although it was quite bulky I didn't mind too much as I was only sleeping. I was so happy when I awoke in the morning and discovered that I remained fully covered all night through and that I hadn't leaked through!! I am definitely a convert! Thank you Lunapads! Excellent! Review by Mary
Quality One of my daughters is "high functioning" autistic and has fabric sensitivity issues with all types of clothing. She is now at an age where her menstrual cycle could begin any day or might hold off for another few years. The not knowing makes her nervous and is something she started to fixate on. I have been worrying about this stage in her life as I used to get horrible rashes from disposable pads and tampons were just uncomfortable to wear. I switched to the Diva Cup a few years ago and have been very happy with it, but I didn't think it would be the right solution for my daughter. I found these online and decided it would be best to get a couple she could practice wearing and get used to before she absolutely needed them.
She has worn them and says they are comfortable on her bottom and loves to wear them. It is something she can easily use herself and I don't have to fight with her to wear because, "they feel better than her underwear."
We keep a stash in the car just in case she starts when we are not home. Over the last two months I have been slowly building a stash of pads and liners for myself and both of my daughters--and it's easy to sort out who's are who's because we all have our own favorite pattern.
These pads have made what could have been a super stressful time in my daughters life considerably easier and is helping her to better prepare herself for the huge changes coming in her life.
The fact that she can practice wearing them before she needs them, be comfortable in her ability to use them properly and have them be the same thing she uses every month is a god-send for someone with autism. (Posted on 2/3/12) -
Good materials & production, not great dimensions Review by MontrealLady
Quality I'm sorry to say that I find these to have unfortunate dimensions - they are too wide and too short for me. The flaps that snap together hang down loose instead of fitting snugly against your underwear, which allows for quite a bit of movement.
Apart from the fit, the material is very soft and comfortable, the stitching is excellent, and I loved the packaging which included great information sheets and a coupon - very nice touch.
However, I found the shipping speed quite slow, especially when I had to pay for shipping (out of 5 companies I made purchases from around Christmas, this was the only time I had to pay shipping, and it was the slowest delivery even though it was within Canada between two major cities). Because this is a review of the product, however, I have not included this consideration in my star rating.
I will probably try the longer (and thinner, judging solely by the pictures) pad and see if that's more suitable to my body type and needs, because I love the idea of reusable menstrual products for both personal comfort & environmental consideration. (Posted on 1/18/12) -
I am a convert Review by Phobos
Quality At first, I just bought the Teeny Pantyliners for my regular days since I had been using one to two disposable pantyliners per day and I really wanted to be more environmentally conscious in my daily life. The LunaPads' pantyliners turned out to be so comfy that I decided to give their pads a try.
I measured the disposable pads I had been using and picked the Mini Pads to start with. However, like what the previous reviewer has mentioned the Mini Pads (and all the pads actually) shrank after washing and tumble-drying. The Mini Pads turned out to be inadequate for my heavier days. So I ordered a couple of those Maxi Pads. When I first received them, they seemed huge but after washing and drying, they shrank to a much more manageable size. Now I use the Maxi Pads for the first couple of days of my period and switched to the Mini Pads afterward. I have also bought more Teeny Pantyliners for my regular days (so I don't need to do laundry so often. :) )
I love using the LunaPads. They are definitely more comfortable and breathable than the disposables. The Maxi Pads can be a bit bulky with tight jeans but since I only use them during the first two days of my period, it is not a big deal.
Washing is easy. I soak the Maxi and Mini Pads in a 4-liter ice cream bucket and change the soaking water whenever I am throwing in a used liner and not in a hurry to run out of the door. Most blood is washed off after days of soaking so by the end of my period, I just throw everything in the washer with my regular laundry. For the pantyliners, I don't even soak them and just throw them in my regular laundry.
At first I was worried about going out and carrying around the used pads. But now I got myself a Moon Bag, going out is easy and I actually don't need to put anything unsightly into my friends' (especially guy friends' ) garbage can.
The only complaint I have is sometimes during my heavier days, the wings of the pads might be stained. Since the wings are not lined with the plastic lining, my panties would be stained too.
By the way, if you don't like to see yellow stain on your pads, I would recommend to order the pads and liners in darker colours. It seems light pink and light blue pads retain stains quite easily. (Posted on 12/23/11) -
Caution, These Shrink Review by Lois
Quality When I got these pads, they were 10.25 in. long and 6.06 in. between the centers of the wing snaps (when pad laid out flat). Now that I've washed one, dimensions have shrunk to 9.75 in. long and 5.62 in. between centers of the wing snaps. I've just ordered some wing extenders :-) since even before the first washing, the pad, when snapped, was narrower than my panty crotch was! Also, if I were going to order again, I'd probably get a longer length in order to keep the ric-rack bands farther away from the area that gets dirty. Oh well ... On the positive side, the pad & liner look like they'll last a long time and absorb liquid (though I haven't yet put it to a really severe test). (Posted on 11/30/11)

Light flow, really?? Review by Drea
Quality I bought these pads on sale without taking a moment to conceptualize the measurements. I have light to average flow, and own a lot of other Lunapads that I love. I just got these in the mail today and they are *HUGE*. Definitely NOT FOR LIGHT FLOW. They're bigger than my long nighttime ones that I wear at the heaviest point in my period.
I have no idea what the heck I'm going to do with them (since paying for shipping back to Canada seems silly). They might make good post-birth pads after I have babies?
***
Thank you for that feedback, Drea. I'm sorry to read that you were disappointed with the pad-style you received. Please note that maxi pads are 10" or 25.5 cm long. If the pad you received from us is longer than this, you may have been shipped the wrong product. If this is the case, please call or email us at info@lunapads.com so we can correct this for you.
When choosing Lunapads, it is really key to consider the length. While our maxi and long pads may feel too large for those who are petite / small, our mini pads may not provide enough coverage for those who are taller / larger, regardless of how light or heavy that person's period may be. Getting the right product is partly about flow considerations, but it's also about your body, your needs, and the amount of coverage you are looking for. Those with heavier flow typically look for more coverage, but this isn't true for everyone - just as some with light flow may require a longer pad than what you would choose for yourself. Our recommendations are provided as guidelines only, and should be considered in combination with what you know about your own unique needs and preferences. We recommend measuring the length of disposable (or reusable) pad that you like best and choosing the pad or pantyliner that is of a similar length (or longer / shorter, depending on what you think will work best for you). Again, feel free to email us at info@lunapads.com to discuss this further. Thanks again. (Posted on 10/28/11) -
good for day Review by Emma
Quality These pads are perfect for day and so cute. The only thing is they are a bit of a pain in the butt to clean. (Posted on 9/18/11)

MUST HAVE Review by Kris
Quality I switched from disposables to lunapads 1 and a half years ago. I use the maxi pad and liners as backup to the DivaCup on heavier days. I find this size is perfect for being out and about without feeling too bulky. (Posted on 9/18/11)

Soft and comfy! Review by Stephanie
Quality I have switched to Lunapads for about 4 months now and I bought maxi pad (because I was actually thinking of my Aunt Maxine who died, which I always called Maxipads) and I actually only wore maxi pads disposable pads.
At first, I actually always kept a disposable with me (for those just in case times) but those times never came! It IS truly a maxipad... it holds MORE than a disposable! It also feels more comfy than disposable. I mean really, is plastic butt a comfy butt? Let's get real here, it's not! Plastic butt is sticky, smelly, and noisy. You're more self conscious and you don't enjoy being a woman.
This month, I'm actually EXCITED about my period! I want it so that I can try my new luna-products, because I have proclaimed myself a "luna-tic." I want everything Lunapads!
Whether you do this as a green way of living or a health issue, make the plunge! Seriously, if you're afraid, then write them, they are AWESOME and answer all your questions and if you want to ask any of us who have purchased, I'm sure we're all willing, I know I am! You won't regret becoming a luna-tic like me and you'll be glad to be a woman! (Posted on 9/15/11) -
What a relief (especially for those with sensitive skin!) Review by Sally
Quality I bought the organic cotton lunapads in the cream color, and they are everything and more I could ask for. I have really sensitive skin, and maxi pads were making me dread my period so I had been thinking about lunapads on and off for years but was always worried about the negatives. Let me just say that I will never go back to reusable pads. There is no odour and the cleaning is absolutely no problem at all. I would advise you to get the buncha farmers stain stick and the nellie's laundry wash because they completely clean my pads, I have a pretty heavy flow, and on plain cream colored cotton I was worried about staining, its been about 4 cycles since I went on lunapads and not a single stain yet!
I really can't live without my lunapads!
Also, I'm so proud of Lunapads for being part the Pads4Girls campaign! (Posted on 8/17/11) -
Made my periods so much more comfortable!! Review by Aequa
Quality I have been using the pads and liners for 5 years and they are still in great shape despite regular trips through the washer and drier. I use the regular pad with a liner for my 10 hours shift at work and I don't even need to change them, they absorb so well and no bad smell, no sweating, you hardly remember you're wearing one. I'm never going back to disposables! (Posted on 8/10/11)

I will never go back! Review by Kris
Quality I have been using Luna Pads for a few years now, and I can honestly say that I will never go back to disposable products again! I love the quality of the pads, even after a few years of use they look and feel as good as new. They are breathable and comfortable to the point that I forget that I have one on. (Posted on 7/10/11)

Superb! Review by lunapearl
Quality I've used lunapads for 2 cycles now, and I am never going back to disposables! For some strange reason I had never given one thought as to why I was willing to suffer all the discomfort, rashes, sweating etc...that I had with disposables. I guess I just figured it was something women had to put up with. When I first heard about lunapads, I thought it was a crazy idea, but really what did I have to lose. After two full cycles I can say with confidence that lunapads do the job, but they do it better than disposables. I don't have discomfort, rashes, or excessive sweating with lunapads. They are soft, breathable, and comfortable. Thank you for this great, truly natural, product. (Posted on 4/29/11)

A first purchase and not my last! Review by Lollie
Quality I first bought these pads a couple years ago, and they are great quality, no problems with them.. super comfortable and fantastic during a medium/heavy period, or if you move around a lot when you sleep.
I tell everyone about Lunapads! Best alternative on the market to horrible bleached store bought pads!!! I even order them all the way to Australia! 5 star! (Posted on 4/27/11) -
Yet another fan! Review by Bri
Quality I'll never go back to the world of disposables. Wearing them is comfortable, not smelly, easy, and fun! Washing them is easy (I use regular detergent, wash with a normal load, and air dry pads and liners). Word on the street is that they will last for years to come, so I don't mind having shelled out the moolah. I've worn them during weekends at others' houses, while camping, and normal day-to-day life. They stay in place without a sticky back - imagine that! They absorb and keep me dry without chemicals and plastic - imagine that! I'm a fan of how I don't get a rash on my crotch once a month anymore.
Do you really need more reasons?! (Posted on 4/7/11) -
So comfy and convenient!! Review by Danielle
Quality These pads are so comfy and convenient!! No more late night runs to the store, and the design that you can add a liner when you choose is so nice!! Now I can use them if I have a heavy day, or a light day. Also, since using these, my period have become lighter, shorter, and less crampy. A little pricey, but with the money you save over disposables, it's well worth it!!! (Posted on 2/5/11)

Comfy for vacation Review by Ally
Quality I have been using lunapads along with a lunette for almost a year. The pad is very comfy and the liners are easy to change. I used the maxi pads on vacation at Disney World several months ago and they worked out great. They are very easy to wash, I just put them in their own little laundry bag and put them in the wash and dryer. So far there is just a little staining on the liners but they have held up very well. So comfortable and durable! Review by Rachel
Quality I have been using lunapads for two years now. They are so comfortable and breathable, even in hot weather. They have remained super-soft through countless washes. No stains either! I have convinced both my sister and my cousin to switch, and I feel great knowing my daughter will be able to use these from her very first period. Love love love them! (Posted on 2/4/11)

Great long lasting product that does what it says Review by Kim
Quality I have been using Lunapads for a year and a half and I look forward to using them every month. I love the feel of a cloth pad. No longer have the problem with heat rash that disposables would cause. Love the cute designs and they clean easily with a one day soak and throw in the wash with towels. I love the black liners they don't show stains. Allows you to layer on heavier flowing days. Wonderful product don't think twice buy NOW!!! (Posted on 2/4/11)

Endurance Comfort Review by Lacifur
Quality My Maxi Pad & Liners celebrate their 6th year of remaining both clean and soft. One might think the last feeling associate with a feminine product is the comfort a child feels close to a favorite blanket, but I still cannot help but enjoy the gentle soothing these provide.
And the patterns just keep getting better! The only downfall to my pads remaining useful for all these years is that I cannot justify getting the fantastic new patterns. Perhaps, I may splurge someday soon. (Posted on 2/4/11) -
Well Made With a Long Life! Review by Sanssouci
Quality I bought one of these pads in Cocoa Kaleidoscope probably about three and a half years ago, and I am still using it today. I think the fabric is adorable, and the pad is still holding up just fine after all this time. The pad does fine in the washing machine, in the dryer, or hanging on a line. The seams are not even starting to come apart anywhere. The snap is still on securely and stays together even when I roll around during the night. The pad can handle my light and medium days on its own. With a liner it can handle my heavier days without a problem too. (Posted on 2/4/11)

Love these pads! Review by Cris
Quality I ordered one of these pads prior to going overseas on vacation. This was my first glimpse into life without disposables and I was so impressed. Walking around all day with just one comfy pad and I only changed the liner once! Having your period on vacation stinks, but I was super comfortable all day! (Posted on 2/4/11)
