MAIA has got you covered with an absorbent, leakproof panel built right in. MAIA styles replace any disposable products you might be using everyday, for your period or for light bladder leakage.

Wear them on their own for everyday needs or customize the absorbency to fit your flow by adding the Insert of your choice and changing throughout the day. MAIA are the most versatile period undies around, and work great for light bladder leakage, too. If you have the occasional "oops!" moment, MAIA will keep you leak-free.

MAIA Bikini sits low on hip with high cut legs, and offers sensible rear coverage. Made from a soft, durable cotton spandex blend, for a comfortable fit. Sizes XS - LG include 1 Maxi Insert. XL-3XL  include 1 Long Insert. Add Maxi Inserts, Long Inserts, Overnight or Postpartum Inserts to increase absorbency. Mini Inserts are not compatible.

Lining: PUL (polyurethane laminate) and organic cotton fleece
Insert: 100% organic cotton fleece.

Performance
Worn without an Insert, MAIA underwear will last approximately as long (per use) as a disposable pad or pantyliner. Inserts can be added for additional absorbency as needed, allowing you to use the same undies for a full day. Changing your Insert as needed is the key to staying comfortable and dry.

How to Use

Inserts can be added as desired by inserting the ends under the bands at each end of the lining. Multiple Inserts may be inserted for increased absorbency.  Inserts can be refreshed throughout the day or night as desired by simply removing and replacing.

Sizes XS - LG include 1 Maxi Liner Insert. XL includes 1 Long Liner Insert. Add Maxi Inserts, Long Inserts, Overnight or Postpartum Inserts to increase absorbency. Mini Inserts are not compatible

Wash and Care

MAIA underwear are fully machine wash & dry safe in any temperature. A quick pre-rinse or soak in cold water prior to washing is recommended, but not necessary, particularly if they are not heavily saturated. Do not soak for longer than 24 hours.

We recommend natural cleaning products such as Nellie’s All Natural Laundry Soda for regular cleaning, and Buncha Farmers Stain Remover to perk up stained underwear. Heavy stains may also benefit from occasional machine wash and dry in hot settings or air drying in direct sunlight.

Please avoid the use of chlorine bleach or fabric softeners as this will decrease the performance of the products and is harmful to the environment.

Great investmentReview by AmieR

I am so impressed with how much volume is held in the liners and the panties: when you rinse them, it's amazing what comes out, and yet still doesn't leak through. I have yet to find a menstrual cup that I can successfully use without pain (other than the disposable Instead Softcup), and while I'm not a huge fan of wearing pads, I found these generally pretty comfortable (they are still pads, though, so, you know). The undies run snug: I had to return the medium and order large, which is not typical sizing for me. I do find the bikini style very comfortable, the liners just a little less so (the fabric always bunches a little). But I agree with the comment about the sweat: I don't feel awful in these from the sweat, and my first trial was in the middle of our hottest weather. I really dislike typical pantyliners, and these really are very comfortable (other than the slight bunching). I bought three pairs of the underwear, but I'll need another couple, as I can't wash and hang to dry overnight in the winter: not enough drying time! (Posted on 8/17/2017)
Pretty Comfortable Review by Just Walkin' Dogs

I get some pretty heavy flow and working in an animal shelter I'm on my feet a lot and can't really make it to the bathroom as much as I should to change pads. I also spend a lot of time outside during the summer in jeans. :/ So, sweating is also a big issue.

I've come to find that these liners can really fill up and that if I slap a few of them on I can go a good while. Also, the sweat, like the blood, only really penetrates the first liner. I can just peel off the first liner after walking the kennel and not have to walk around in a swamp diaper the rest of the day unlike some of the other period panties I've previously tried. Worth itReview by M

I own 3 pairs and these are worth every penny. I use my cup with these and everything works well. I wear them when my hemorrhoids act up, sometimes they bleed pretty heavily, and these give me the confidence to still go out and do things. I bet these would be great for those with incontinence as well. (Posted on 6/21/2017)
Amazing!Review by MB

These have changed my periods! I ordered a starter kit originally and I liked them but I still had that uncomfortable, bunchy feeling...still better than disposables though. Then I came across the underwear, they seemed expensive but thought I would try a pair out. I am so glad I did, they are great! When my period comes it isn't a big deal anymore. I can wear normal looking underwear and feel good at the same time. There is no going back now, I just ordered a few more pairs and am trying out the hipsters as well.
For sizing, I was in the middle of the range so went with that and it fit a bit tight at first but once I got used to them it was totally fine and have had no riding up issues at all! The bands hold the inserts well and so far everything has washed well. I hang dry everything to be safe though. Would definately recommend these :) (Posted on 4/13/2017)
Cover Miscarriage!Review by MamaMayor

So I have been buying these for years, but recently my new ones arrived the day I was told my pregnancy was no longer going to develop at 8 weeks. I chose to miscarry on my own. I used these with postpartum liners, and although did laundry every few hours, they were amazing!!! Truly not a drop on the bed or clothes. I was shocked! Thank you for such an incredible alternative. They were worth every penny. (Posted on 3/31/2016)
Mostly goodReview by Lizzie

I have three pairs of these. I like them much better than wearing the lunapads snapped over regular panties. Less bulk and the liner stays in place better. HOWEVER, I would NOT agree with the statement that you can put these in the clothes dryer. Because of the bands that hold the liners to the panties, I was always careful not to put them in the dryer. They worked great... until someone - names withheld to protect the well-intentioned - put them in the dryer. After that the bands never worked as well. (Posted on 8/23/2015)
I like them but they run SMALLReview by Zoe

I purchased two pairs size large and also a pair of the alexandria hipster in a medium, not sure where I would fall. The Alexandria fit great, but these are uncomfortably tight. So much so that I had to cut the seams half way through the day. I love the idea of these and functionally the do their job but order up a size. (Posted on 5/4/2015)

Low fitting bikini.. I ordered the right size for my measurements but it runs small on me. The top elastic puts pressure on my bladder. The quality is great. Prices seem high. (Posted on 4/25/2015)

These are great, sexy-looking period panties that fit like a dream! If you like bikini style, these are a must-have - comfortable and great-looking. I wear mine to bed with liners, and it is so much more comfortable than worrying about a pad shifting around in my sleep - just amazing!! (Posted on 8/30/2013)

Lunapads How-to Guide

Reusable menstrual products are eco-friendly, money-saving, healthy alternatives to disposable pads and tampons. Lunapads will last well over 5 years with recommended use and care! While individual use may vary, we estimate that a single Lunapad replaces 120 disposable pads or tampons.

A Conversation about The DivaCup

There are lots of reasons to switch from tampons to The DivaCup; convenience, comfort, your health, the environment, financial savings & more. This first episode in our new video series shares the personal accounts of a group of DivaCup users, and explores what motivated each woman to try this innovative menstrual solution.

Why Switch to Lunapads?

Roughly 20 billion pads, tampons and applicators are sent to North American landfills annually. Each menstruating person in North America will throw away an estimated 16,800 disposable pads or tampons in their lifetime; products that require hundreds of years to biodegrade. Imagine the difference we could make if we chose to ditch the disposables.
